Improving Care for Non-Dialysis CKD Patients: KDIGO Guideline published in Kidney International

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Kidney International has published the KDIGO Clinical Practice Guideline for management of blood pressure (BP) in chronic kidney disease (CKD), which replaces the 2004 Kidney Disease Quality Outcomes Initiative document on the same topic.

This new guideline is designed to help physicians in their clinical decision-making for patients with CKD who are not receiving dialysis.

The guideline encourages treatment individualization and accentuates the importance of lifestyle changes and the use of multiple pharmacological agents.

Controversies in BP management for CKD patients are outlined along with key areas for future research.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
