The WCN’25 Local PCO, Meetings and More, have negotiated special room rates with a wide range of hotels located in the Aerocity area.

Daily connections between the Aerocity hotels and the venue is very easy via the local metro by taking the Airport line metro from: Delhi Aerocity metro station, at only two metro stops from the Yashobhoomi (IICC).

These room rates are valid till December 20, 2024. After December 20, the room’s rates may vary as per the market demand of the rooms.

Access for Minors & Facilities

Minors (persons under 18) can access the congress venue and other WCN’25 areas.* Minors must be registered at the congress registration desk. Registered children must wear a badge or wristband with the caretaker’s contact always details while on-site.

Adults are fully responsible for the appropriate behavior of the children they accompany. Interference with congress activities will not be accepted. The organizers take no responsibility for any damage to the venue, other facilities, or disruption caused by minors. Content deemed unsuitable for children may be displayed during WCN ’25 congress sessions.

*Minors will not be admitted to the opening ceremony, the Exhibition Hall, the Interventional Nephrology Course, or industry sessions.

The following child facilities are available:

A playroom for parents, caretakers and minors is available in the IICC 3rd Floor. All minors must be always accompanied by their parent or caretaker.

A baby feeding room is available in 3rd Floor.

In each session room, the seats nearest to the exit will be reserved for delegates who may need to leave a session abruptly, such as doctors on call or parents with children.

Located in Dwarka, New Delhi, IICC is India’s largest convention and exhibition centre.

PRACTICALITIES

The official currency in India is Rupees (INR).

It is easy to obtain local currency in the Airport at the Money Exchange Counter. please note that you’ll need to provide ID when changing money.

Local currency is also available from cash machines (ATMs) throughout the city. Cash machines operate 24 hours a day and accept all major international cards.

Banks provide standard services nationwide, Monday to Saturday, except 2nd.4th Saturday and public and bank holidays, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Currency exchange offices are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday, except holidays.

Government offices are generally open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, except on holidays.

Private businesses work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shops are usually open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

For India, there are three associated plug types, types C, D and M. Plug type C is the plug that has two round pins, plug type D is the plug that has three round pins in a triangular pattern and plug type M is the plug which also has three round pins. India operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

The official language is Hindi. However, English is widely understood in most hotels, shops, and restaurants. Hindi is also frequently spoken.

India has a time zone GMT+5:30.

Expect 24°C daytime maximum temperatures in the shade with on average 8 hours of sunshine per day in New Delhi in February.

The temperature ranges between 7°C and 25°C. There is very little chance of rainfall this month. This is the peak winter season and thus, the humidity will be low. However, mid-afternoon can get hot during certain days. Thick cotton or mild woolen dresses are required during dawn. After sunset, a woolen coat would come handy.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Delhi Duty-Free is India’s largest duty-free retail store promising an outstanding shopping experience to customers, but the outlet is only inside the International Airport. They offer products in categories like liquor, tobacco, apparel, accessories, food, candies, perfume, travel essentials, and souvenirs.

Nearby the Hotel Aerocity, you have many places to visit as a Walking Tours:

Go on a shopping spree at The Walk located in Worldmark which is considered a hotspot for anyone looking to get some retail therapy done. The place has premium brands like Central that house renowned retail brands with their standalone stores like Da Milano, Miniso, Meena Bazaar, Forest Essentials, iWorld, and more.

There is no regulation for tipping in Delhi. The expected collaboration for the staff is 15-20% of the total amount.

Using mosquito repellent is recommended throughout the day and night due to the rising Dengue cases in the country.

In Delhi, public restrooms are not very clean, so it’s advisable to use facilities whenever available at museums, theatres, or restaurants.

TRANSPORTATION IN New delhi

Public transport in the metropolis includes the Delhi Metro, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and DIMTS (Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System) bus system, auto-rickshaws, cycle-rickshaws, e-rickshaws, Grameen Seva and taxis.

One of the best ways to explore the city is by using the Delhi Metro. The Delhi Metro is a modern and efficient mode of transportation that connects the length and breadth of the city. With its extensive network of over 350 kilometers, it is the lifeline of the city’s transportation system.

Visa and passport

Foreign Nationals coming to India are required to possess a genuine and valid national passport or any other internationally recognized travel document establishing his/her nationality and identity, bearing the photograph of the individual.

Exemptions: Nepal and Bhutan nationals if entering India by land or air from the Nepal or Bhutan border respectively do not require a passport to enter India. However, they are required to possess authorized identity proof.

Please note the following, and find the instructions for VISA applications in the accordion below:

  1. All visitors to India must have a visa to enter the country.
  2. Most delegates can apply online (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/) but some nationalities will need to make a paper application. A recent change now allows U.K. delegates to apply via the e-visa portal below. Please check the e-visa website to confirm the current position: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/
  3. We advise that you apply for a conference visa and not a business or tourist visa. A conference visa will enable you to stay in India for 30 days after arrival and participate in tourist activities pre- or post-conference as part of its remit.

Requirements & Details

1. Conference Visa 

Step 1: If you are not a citizen of any Restricted country (Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, foreigners of Pakistani origin and Stateless persons), you can download the No-objection Certificate (NOC) directly from your dashboard under “Invoices & Receipts” by clicking on “Supporting Letter from Ministry of External Affairs”. 
Step 2: Once you download the NOC, you can download the invitation letter from the WCN registration portal (https://events.theisn.org/). Please note that the invitation letter will be available only for the delegates fully registered  (including payment) to the congress.
Step 3: With the invitation letter and NOC letter, you can now apply for your visa. Please submit your application as soon as possible to ensure you receive the visa before your planned arrival date.

2. Conference Visa – Restricted countries (Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, foreigners of Pakistani origin and Stateless persons)

Step 1: Submit your passport details in the specified format on the online registration portal while registering for the conference.
Step 2: Your passport details and a scanned copy of your passport will be sent to the ministry for clearance. Please note ministry will require minimum 60 days to process the clearance (NOC) from the date of submission.
Step 3: Once we receive the NOC, you can download the invitation letter from the WCN registration portal (https://events.theisn.org/). Please note that the invitation letter will be available only for the delegates fully registered  (including the payment) to the congress.
Step 4: With the invitation letter and NOC letter, you can now apply for your visa. Please make sure to submit your application at least 2 months before your planned arrival date.

3. Additional requirement from Taiwan, China, Japan and Hong Kong

Important Information for Delegates from Japan/China

Delegates from above countries are required to follow these steps to obtain an e-Conference Visa

Online Application:

a) Begin by applying for the e-Conference Visa through the official Visa website.

b) Upon completing the application, you will receive an Application Number.

Submission of Hard Copies:

a) Print the application letter and required supporting documents.

b) Submit these hard copies, along with the Application Number, to the Indian Counselor Office for further processing.

Presenting authors must register for the congress by November 6, 2024, to have their abstract published as described above and to have a poster presentation at the congress. No exceptions will be made. Abstract presenters must register using the same email, if they fail to do so and do not communicate the change of email to the Abstract team, the abstract might not be published in Kidney International Reports® or presented onsite. WCN organizers will not be held responsible for non-publication. 
Minors (persons under 18 years of age) can access the congress venue and areas used by WCN’25. Minors must be registered (no fee applies, please contact registrationswcn@theisn.org to receive the applicable registration form). Minors must always be accompanied by one parent or caretaker (1 minor = 1 adult). The accompanying person must be fully registered for WCN’25. Adults are fully responsible to ensure appropriate and correct behavior of the children and interference with the congress activities will not be accepted. The organizers take no responsibility for content deemed unsuitable for children which may be displayed during WCN’25 congress sessions.  Regardless of their registration status, minors will not be admitted to the opening ceremony and plenary sessions, the Exhibition Hall, the Interventional Nephrology Course and industry sessions. Registered children will be required to wear a badge or wristband (depending on the age) which will always include the contact details of their caretaker whilst on site. 
The ISN World Congress of Nephrology, taking place in New Delhi, India, from February 6th to 9th, 2025, has applied for accreditation from the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®). The accreditation status will be updated on this page once we receive the notification. Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/education/earn-credit-participation-international-activities. Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for EACCME®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Please note that the CME Certificate of Attendance will not be available for the on-demand viewing.
Any cancellation or change of your registration must be done in writing to the WCN organizers (registrationswcn@theisn.org) and will be subject to the following conditions: Cancellation of participation by the participant  
  • On or before January 9, 2025: refund of fee minus an administrative charge of 150 USD (+GST). Please note that in the case of a registration fee lower than 150 USD (+ GST), there will be no refund.  
  • After January 9, 2025: no refunds will be issued. Refunds for cancelled registrations will be processed after WCN’25.  
Name changes/replacements Name changes will only be possible for confirmed and paid registrations.  
  • On or before January 9, 2025: replacements or name changes can be made free of charge.  
  • After January 9, 2025: replacements or name changes are subject to an administrative fee of 50 USD (+GST). 
Non-attendance/no-show Should a registered delegate not be able to attend the congress, for whatever reason, no further claims for reimbursement or waiving of fees can be made. *A fully paid registration will give you access to post-WCN content even if the delegate is a no-show.  Double payment/over-payment  In case of double payment or over payment, an administrative fee of 50 USD (+ GST) is applicable on the refund.  
Registered and paid participants will be able to download a certificate of attendance. This certificate is only made available on the ISN Events portal, after the congress. More information about the certificates will be published on the WCN’25 website before the congress. 
If the presenting author cannot present the abstract, a co-author may do so, provided they are registered for the congress. In this case, the original presenting author must communicate the presenting author change to the Abstract team (abstractswcn@theisn.org) no later than November 6, 2024 to confirm that the new presenting author is registered. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the abstract. No exceptions will be made.
Upon finalizing your registration online, you will receive an acknowledgement and confirmation including all the details of your registration as well as corresponding invoices and payment confirmations. This information will be sent to the email address you provided when completing the registration.

What is included in your WCN’25 Registration? 
  • Access to all ISN WCN scientific program sessions and plenary sessions February 7- 9, 2025

Registration to the pre-congress courses and to the Interventional Nephrology, Dialysis, and POCUS Course (February 6, 2025) is not automatically included in a WCN’25 registration. Access to the courses must be purchased separately. You can do so at any moment via the registration portal. Access to the Interventional Nephrology, Dialysis, and POCUS Course is subject to availability. ISN members will have access to the WCN’25 content from all themes without any time restrictions. Additionally, all WCN’25 delegates will receive access to the congress scientific content for one month following the event.
