Call for expressions of interest/nominations for
ISN i3C Working Group, Member

The ISN welcomes expressions of interest/nominations for the position of a member of the ISN International Consortium of Chronic Kidney Disease of unknown origin (CKDu) Collaborators (i3C) Working Group. The position will start at the World Congress of Nephrology 2024 (WCN’24).

About the ISN i3C Working Group

The purpose of the i3C Working Group is to facilitate global collaboration in, and to improve and share understanding of, CKDu. The i3C Working Group works under the umbrella of the ISN Research Working Group (RWG).

The ISN i3C Working Group aims to:

  • Objective 1: Create a network linking diverse groups working on CKDu throughout the world through the development of an ISN Observatory on CKDu (ISN WHO Collaboration Plan Deliverable).
  • Objective 2: Develop a work plan for long term mission, and short term (annual) goals aimed at fostering continued understanding, research and awareness-raising regarding CKDu.
  • Objective 3: Propose and plan activities and events within the ISN strategic objectives and plan aimed at addressing the issue of CKDu.
  • Objective 4: Increase awareness of the condition and its consequences with policy makers and health authorities.
  • Objective 5: Review potential budget opportunities for revenue generation/fund raising/grant applications to further the work.
  • Objective 7: Prioritize activities within budget and resource constraints.

The Role

The roles and responsibilities of i3C Working Group members will be to implement the aims listed above.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated interest in ISN activities
  • Must be experts or researchers in the CKDu area
  • ISN member in good standing
  • Email accessible and able to regularly connect to conference calls

Additional information

The position will start at WCN’24 for an initial term of approximately 2-years until WCN’26. The position may be renewed for up to two further terms, to a maximum of approximately 6-years (note: renewal is not automatic and based on group’s needs). Timeline – October: Application period open. November: Positions decided by ISN leadership. December: Applicants notified of outcome.
