Taking action on ESKD

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The second Global Kidney Health Summit in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates delved into the pressing issues surrounding end-stage kidney disease (ESKD).

There is no framework for low-resource countries to implement or extend programs for kidney care, prevention and treatment. This Summit revealed the socio-economic and geographic barriers to better care, gaps in the organization, knowledge, and practice of the global healthcare workforce, and some of the challenges governments face in establishing and/or maintaining quality ESKD care.

Based on the outputs, we will establish several action points under the themes of advocacy, sustainability, equity and integration.

Find out more in my latest  interview at the Summit in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
