The ISN is pleased to announce a long-term partnership with the Francophone Society of Nephrology, Dialysis, and Transplantation (SFNDT) following years of close collaboration.

The SFNDT is a professional organization that promotes and develops kidney care in French-speaking countries. It works to advance research, training, clinical practice, and collaboration to improve outcomes for people living with kidney diseases.

Through this strategic partnership, the ISN and the SFNDT will join forces to enhance kidney care by strengthening education, training, research, and advocacy efforts in French-speaking regions.

Fast-tracking professional growth with ISN membership benefits

As part of the agreement, the SFNDT has become an ISN Collective-member society. Collective-member society status increases global activity and visibility through ISN endorsement.

Individual SFNDT members will receive premium access to the ISN’s e-learning platform, the ISN Academy – an extensive resource with hundreds of hours of recorded content and CME-accredited courses. Some Academy content is subtitled in French, and simultaneous translation into French and other languages is increasingly available during live webinars.

In addition, SFNDT members can enjoy a discounted rate to become full ISN members. This membership offers a range of individual benefits, including eligibility to apply for ISN Fellowships and other granting programs. Members can also apply for roles within ISN committees and working groups, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to help advance research, education, and advocacy initiatives in kidney care.

Joint initiatives and education

To support kidney care in French-speaking Africa and further afield, the ISN and SFNDT have outlined several collaborative initiatives, including:

• Speaker participation: The ISN will facilitate the involvement of regional and international speakers in kidney-related congresses
• Educational initiatives: The organizations will co-produce educational webinars in French. In addition, the ISN will support the SFNDT’s annual course and activities within its Solidarity Commission

In May, the ISN supported three speakers to present in French at the “6th Congress of the Ivorian Society of Nephrology” in Grand-Bassam, Ivory Coast. In November, the ISN will support speakers to attend the “Premières Journées Scientifiques de la Societé Béninoise de Nephrologie” (Cotonou, Benin, November 27-29) organized by the SFDNT and local Benin Society of Nephrology. In addition, the ISN is excited to host a booth at the SFNDT annual congress in Bordeaux, taking place from October 1-4.

The ISN looks forward to collaborating with the SFNDT to advance global kidney health.
