The ISN President, Professor Vivekanand Jha, wrote to over 70 WHO Member States ahead of the launch of the WHO’s Global Diabetes Compact on April 14. Professor Jha flagged that diabetes is the leading cause of end-stage kidney failure globally, and highlighted the importance of collaborative working to tackle the sourge of diabetes and, by extension, reduce the global burden of kidney disease.
